Animag was an US anime publication from the 80's.I had bought a bootleg copy of AKIRA at a Boston comic convention before Streamline Pictures released it and I was obsessed with that movie and I was buying anything I could that had articles about it.I saw this magazine sitting on the shelf at my local comic shop back in 1989 and I snatched it up.
Looking at the table of contents - what a fantastic time to be in love with anime.Look at that listing: Five Star Stories, an interview with Osamu Tezuka, Animation updates on things like Dirty Pair and Devilman, articles on Dominion, Zeta Gundam, Akira and more. It's like the Golden Age of anime.
This issue is in decent shape - the cover is a bit dog-eared, but overall everything is clean and crisp. It still has the centerfold color illustration of Dominion's "cat girls" and fuzzy tank.
Into vintage retro anime stuff?Get this. It's a gorgeous magazine. And that cover - pure animation cell artwork.
